چکیده

ABSTRACT: In Brazil, the optimal dose of phosphorus in cultivation yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil.) clones has yet to be defined. This study verified productivity response application P doses and determined critical level nutrient soil leaves. The experiment was developed Itaiópolis-SC, humic cambisol, from 2013 2020. Five were evaluated two (BRS-BLD Aupaba F2) mate. Fertility defined by planting/post-planting (0, 2.3; 4.5; 6.8, 9.0 g plant-1), canopy formation 1 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 2 15, 45, 60 production 16.7; 33.3; 50.0; 66.7 kg ha-1). Harvests took place between July 2015 January 2020, at 18-month intervals. leaves, fine branches, thick branches evaluated. 2020 harvest, leaf samples collected determine P. clone components increased with phosphate fertilization all harvests. levels for clones, F2, 5.2 6.3 mg dm-3 1.03 1.11 kg-1 respectively. Yerba is demanding P, expressing maximum planting phase, 2, when 5, 25, 40 plant-1, 35 ha-1 P2O5 are applied,

COMPOSITION AND BIOACTIVE PROPERTIES OF YERBA MATE (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.): A REVIEW

Yerba Mate is a popular tea beverage produced and consumed in the South American countries of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay, and is processed from the leaves and stems of Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil., a perennial shrub from the Aquifoliaceae family. Production occurs in six stages: harvesting older leaves and small stems, roasting by direct fire, drying under hot air, milli...

Antimicrobial activity of yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil.) against food pathogens.

Yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil.) has been studied for its important biological activities mainly attributed to phenolic compounds. This study evaluated the antimicrobial activity of methanolic and ethanolic extracts of yerba mate against food pathogens, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella Enteritidis and Escherichia coli through minimum inhibitory (MIC) an...

Exploring the Genes of Yerba Mate (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.) by NGS and De Novo Transcriptome Assembly

Yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.) is an important subtropical tree crop cultivated on 326,000 ha in Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, with a total yield production of more than 1,000,000 t. Yerba mate presents a strong limitation regarding sequence information. The NCBI GenBank lacks an EST database of yerba mate and depicts only 80 DNA sequences, mostly uncharacterized. In this scenar...

Antioxidant potential of yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil.) extracts in Saccharomyces cerevisae deficient in oxidant defense genes.

Yerba-mate (Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil) is mainly consumed as "chimarrão", a hot drink highly appreciated in Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. This study evaluated the antioxidant potential of aqueous extracts of I. paraguariensis precipitated with ethanol. The leaves were processed as for tea product (TM) and oxidized (OX). The antioxidant potential was evaluated in cells of Saccharomy...

Natural Antioxidant from Yerba Maté (Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil.) Prevents Hamburger Peroxidation

The aim of this study was to evaluate whether yerba maté alcoholic extracts at very low concentrations (0.01 and 0.1%), prevent/retard lipid peroxidation in beef hamburgers without impairing sensory acceptability. For this TBARs and hexanal levels, fatty acid profile and cholesterol oxides were evaluated as oxidation parameters in beef hamburgers during 90 days’ storage. The addition of 0.01% y...
